A pair of matte black lanterns with candles that flicker by themselves at dusk, bringing the calm of a Mediterranean evening to the front door, the terrace or the hearth.

Each lantern is an open frame of slim metal posts beneath a softly domed roof, finished in matte black and crowned with a sturdy loop handle. Inside stands an ivory flameless pillar candle with a gently melted top, and a small solar panel in the roof charges it by day so the flame begins to flicker on its own as the light fades. Stand the pair beside the front door, set them at the end of a long outdoor table, flank a flight of garden steps, or bring them inside to glow beside the fireplace. With no glass to break or clean, they are as practical as they are beautiful.

Made with care from metal, the Medium lantern measures 17.2 × 17.2 cm (6.8 × 6.8 in) and stands 40.3 cm (15.9 in) tall, with a 12.4 × 22 cm (4.9 × 8.7 in) door opening and a weight of about 1.56 kg (3.4 lb). The Large lantern measures 24.3 × 24.3 cm (9.6 × 9.6 in) and stands 56.5 cm (22.2 in) tall, with a 19.3 × 32.3 cm (7.6 × 12.7 in) door opening. Heights are measured without the handle. A light sensor switches the candles on at dusk after 6 to 8 hours of sun, with an ON/OFF switch for storage.
